Timber Sales & Transport Coordinator

Boundary Creek Timber are seeking an experienced and dedicated Timber Salesperson to join our professional team on a full-time basis. The role includes overseeing Timber Sales to large contractors through to the face to face sales to the general public.  The position also involves co-ordination of transport operations including organisation of local and statewide deliveries and scheduling of backloads. 

Duties & responsibilities:

• Prepare and submit sales quotations and updating customer records
• Answer phones and emails to provide accurate product information and lead times to customers
• Load timber onto vehicles and ensure chain of responsibility laws are followed 
• Coordinate with delivery truck drivers and sawmill staff
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships
• Coordinate logistics for timber deliveries and backloads
• Oversee logistics and administration of domestic water deliveries
• Update data spreadsheets

 Experience & attributes:

• Prior sales experience and timber or building knowledge is advantageous
• Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office Suite
• Familiarity with Xero software is beneficial
• Good mathematical skills and memory for facts and figures
• Physically fit to perform some manual handling and lifting
• Solid organisational and problem-solving skills
• Keen attention to detail
• Effective teamworking and collaborative skills with other departments
• Forklift licence an advantage
