The role of a town Planner or Senior Town Planner is crucial in the development and growth of cities and towns. The Forward Planning Team at The Hills Shire Council is seeking experienced and qualified professionals to join our dynamic team and contribute to our vision for urban planning. Duties include:
Process, assess and report on rezoning proposals to amend the statutory planning framework.
Prepare and implement precinct plans for new growth areas.
Identify infrastructure requirements for new growth areas and rezonings.
Develop and monitor planning policy and assessment criteria.
Advise council on the impact of government reforms and policy changes.
About you:
To be successful in this role you will have:
Drivers Licence (Class C) – NSW;
Tertiary Qualifications in Town Planning or related field such as Economics, Architecture, Environmental Science, Geography or similar;
Skills in Town Planning and Urban Design, recreation & social planning, land development, communication, conflict resolution, problem solving, project management, strategic analysis and interpretation, and research & documentation;
Demonstrated skills in the assessment and processing of planning proposals, Development Control
Plan amendments, preparation of contributions plans and negotiation of Voluntary Planning Agreements; [Senior Town Planner]
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar Town Planning role. [Senior Town Planner]

Position details:
Salary will be based on qualifications, expertise, experience and knowledge:
Town Planner - Salary: Up to $88.7K p.a. + Superannuation + Performance Bonus (up to 2% annual base salary) + organisational bonus (up to $2K) + Aquatic and Fitness membership discounts
Senior Town Planner S0182 - Salary: Up to $124K p.a. incl. Car Allowance + Superannuation + Performance Bonus (up to 2% annual base salary) + organisational bonus (up to $2K) + Aquatic and Fitness membership discounts
