Senior Town Planner

As a Senior Town Planner, you will join the statutory planning team to provide assistance to the Capital Works Team, Asset Management Team and specialist advice to various project teams navigating the NSW planning process.Day to day duties will involve:

• Assessing the impact of Development Applications by third parties on department assets and operations and preparing submissions to state and local government
• Assisting Director's and their teams in managing state and local government DA processes which includes reviewing consultant approaches, attending pre-DA meetings and negotiating conditions of consent
• Providing advice on various statutory and strategic planning planning requirements to internal and external stakeholders to assist their understanding of the approval process.

Experience with SSD's and Part 5 Assessments will be highly desirable. Infrastructure experience will be desirable but not necessary.5 positions are available for an initial 6 month contract, looking to either extend or go permanent. Daily rate is $650 - $750/day + super.The OrganisationThis State Government agency is currently going through a growth period that involves an incoming legislative change which will result in a large increase in the number of DA's coming in.The team works in a fast paced environment, with the successful candidates requiring the aptitude to maneuver quickly and juggle deadlines.The team goes into the CBD office on Tuesday and Thursday's, and are open to workers elsewhere in NSW commuting in as needed.The CandidateThe successful candidates will exhibit:

• Minimum 3-5 year's experience with statutory planning, ideally with consultancy or state government experience
• Experience with SSD's, Part 5 Assessments and/or infrastructure DA's will be highly desirable
• Project Management skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
