AddressHussey & Co, established in 1975, are renowned for producing Australia’s finest gourmet baby leaf salad mixes.
We are looking for someone who has high energy levels, personal resilience and the ability to think on their feet will be critical for success.
Hussey & Co operate a fleet of 27 new John Deere tractors seeding is all done on brand new 6130 tractors with fertilizer machine on the front seeder on the back
Rate: Dependent on experience – Hussey pay above the Horticulture Award and overtime.
Key Responsibilities:
- Following the planting plan
- Working with the planting manager
- Using our planting program on an iPad
- Calibrating the seeder when required
- Seed shed stocktakes on a weekly basis
- Calibrate the fertilizer spreader
- Pre starts checks on machinery
- Understand crops and variety's
The following skills and experience will be required:
- Attention to detail
- Hands on, energetic and pro-active
- Ability to work independently and apart of a team
- Willing to work flexible hours
- A strong work ethic
- Record keeping
- Basic computer skills/Tech savvy
- Adhering to company OH&S, policies and procedures, as well as maintaining machinery.
- Willingness to work in all weather conditions.
The following skills would be advantageous:
- Experience in tractor operation
- Babyleaf farming experience
- Mechanically minded
- Seeding experience
- A hands-on approach to problem solving
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English.
Shift work will be required depending on the Season
