At MBIP we are offering an exciting opportunity for a law graduate or admitted lawyer who is interesting in becoming a Trade Marks specialist, to join our growing team.
Varied and stimulating workload - Serving a diversity of clients including multinational corporations, wineries, cosmetic companies, car manufacturers, food and beverage manufacturers and medical appliance developers, to name a few.
Mentoring and career progression - this role will see you working closely with our highly experienced (over 20 years in the IP industry) and very approachable Head of Trade Marks, Geraldine Rimmer. Geraldine has been a top ranked individual practitioner for trade mark prosecution and strategy (Australia) for the past 5 years, in the World Trademark Review’s WTR1000 rankings.
Key responsibilities include:
- Trade mark application drafting, prosecution and registration
- Preparing, reviewing and giving advice in relation to enforcement, infringement and validity/searches
- Office action responses
You are someone who:
- Has 1+ years’ experience of relevant IP experience and wishing to become a Trade Marks specialist
- Is qualified, or interested in becoming qualified, as an Australian Registered Trade Marks Attorney
- Is organised, able to prioritise and work to tight deadlines
- Takes a problem-solving approach with a commercial mindset
- Is enthusiastic about identifying opportunities to promote yourself and our firm
- Is motivated to achieve individual goals while contributing to our firm’s collective goals

This role would suit a junior professional looking for a full-time position, but we are open to discussing flexible arrangements for the right candidate. Location: Hybrid, work from home and work out of our beautiful character building in Red Hill, Brisbane, or our new office in Spring Hill.
