WHAT IS THE POSITION?
Champ Workforce Management are seeking applications from QUALIFIED Mechanical Trades personnel (this may include tradespeople with a background as Qualified Mechanical Fitter/Motor Mechanics/Diesel Fitters/Fitter Turners) to join the business. Permanent and casual roles are available.
You will be required to travel often (travel paid hourly) out on a Sunday in the Company Service Vehicle to begin Qld Mine Site based work the following day (accommodation and meals are included whilst working away only) so having the flexibility to travel on any day is a must for your application to be considered.
Mine Site based work is regular and scheduled well in advance, so you will have some level of consistency to allow you to plan your life around these periods away from home.
Between shutdown periods, you would be working from the Rockhampton workshop, so you MUST live within 1 hour of the Rockhampton Workshop.
To maintain a good lifestyle balance, when you are not working on site, you will only work a 4-day week (minimum of 32hrs) allowing you to be home with family and friends - so you'll be able to enjoy your down time. Don't worry we are offering a competitive salary so you won't feel the pinch if it's a shorter week.
Don't have CHPP experience? That's okay. If you have the right attitude and a great work ethic - our client can teach you the rest!
The right candidates will also have the opportunity to be considered for CURRENT Permanent positions OR the possibility to transition from Fixed Term employment with Champ Workforce Managment to direct employment with the Client in future, based upon solid performance.
TO BE CONSIDERED, you must meet the below criteria
- Relevant Mechanical Trade Qualifications, experience in fixed plant maintenance is desired.
- Standard 11 Induction
- You will hold a current Coal Board Medical, or be available to undertake pre-employment medical in the coming weeks
- Ability to pass daily and/or random Drug & Alcohol screening
- A strong commitment to Safety standards a MUST
- Current, unrestricted QLD drivers license and reliable transport is a requirement of the role
- Applicants who hold current Qld Site Inductions for the following sites will be given priority: Caval Ridge, Curragh, Carborough Downs, Daunia, Hail Creek
- Applicants with additional High Risk Work Licenses will be highly regarded.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a customer facing environment - where you will represent our clients brand
- Ability to work as part of a small crew, travelling and working together - this will be verified with your current referees who have been your direct supervisor
