About the Region
The South Burnett Region is ideally situated just 2 - 3 hours' drive to Brisbane, Toowoomba, Sunshine Coast and Fraser Coast. About the role

Council is seeking an Officer to perform the day-to-day functions and activities required to control the discharge of Trade Waste into Councils sewerage system to ensure compliance with Trade Waste Policy and Management Plan. This role will assess Trade Waste permits and liquid waste, and plan assessment applications, provide customer service to internal and external customers and undertake risk assessments and recommendations around permits and agreement renewals. The successful applicant will have proven knowledge of Trade Waste management, ability to analyse technical information and communicate it to all customers, sound time management skills, as well as ability to work as part of a team and contribute to continuous improvement.
Mandatory Qualifications
- Certificate IV Water Industry Operations (Trade Waste) or other
relevant qualifications - Minimum requirement of a current C Class driver’s licence
- General Safety Induction for Construction Worker (White Card)
Desirable Qualifications
- Plumber/ Drainer trade qualification would be considered advantageous

Skills and experience

- Proven knowledge of Trade Waste management including pre-treatment installation, servicing requirements, sewer admission limits and specifying discharge conditions.
- Ability to analyse technical information and communicate this in a manner that is understood by internal and external customers.
- Sound time management skills, being able to work towards targets and deadlines.
- Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to continuous improvement activities.
- Demonstrated experience in the use and application of the Microsoft suite, and corporate software systems.
