Trades Assistant

About the roleWe are seeking suitably experienced and switched on Trades Assistants to support our team of Boilemakers and Welders based in Para Hills West.Reporting to the Fabrication Team Leader on day shift (5.30am to 1.36pm plus additional voluntary over time available), you will be responsible for the provision of safe, efficient and compliant support services to the Mining Division’s Trades employees and its Customers.DutiesOperate overhead cranes up to 40t, turning large excavator buckets and attachmentsAssist in dual crane liftsLoading and unloading of trucksBasic administrative tasksApplying quality control techniquesMaintaining a safe and clean work placeUse basic hand and power tools Operate basic workshop equipmentOrdering spare partsLubricating mechanical equipment and componentsOperating lifting equipmentInspecting work for conformity to established standardsBasic measurement and inspectionSkills & experienceCertificate II Engineering (Mechanical) or >2 years’ industry experience Current driver’s licenceCurrent High Risk Licence LF essentialCurrent High Risk Licence CB, DG and RI all highly desirableTechnically minded and computer savvyHand tool experience preferred Great attitude towards learning, attention to detail and ability to work unsupervisedDiversity and InclusionDiversity and inclusion sits at the heart of the Liebherr Group’s Core Values.
