Yurika has several permanent opportunities currently on offer for motivated Electrical Trades Assistants to join our Field Services - Substation & Test team based out of Brisbane (Eagle Farm).
About your new role:
As an Electrical Trades Assistant, you’ll be responsible for various duties such as installation of steel structures and equipment in a substation environment; electro-mechanical work such as Unistrut installation, cable tray and cabling support installations; site preparation; and transport of materials at both the job site and between different job sites.
You’ll operate equipment such as slew and non-slew cranes, telehandlers, cable winching equipment, hydraulic cable stands along with many other specialised pieces of equipment to facilitate the delivery of Yurika projects.
You can work independently and autonomously to ensure that your assigned activities are performed to meet safety, environmental, and legal responsibilities under the required scope of work and client expectations. You’ll also be responsible for the effective planning and execution of assigned activities to meet project requirements.
Additionally, you’ll be required to operate vehicles, equipment, and tools safely and consistent with competencies held. You’ll also assess material delivery compliance with specifications and customer requirements.

Remuneration -
- $88,653 per annum plus 12.75% Superannuation plus applicable allowances.
The level of payment will be subject to an assessment of the applicant’s knowledge, skill and competencies required for the position.

About you:
Critical to your success in the role, is your:
- Current ‘HR’ Driver’s Licence or the ability to acquire it.
- Demonstrated ability to operate vehicles, equipment, and tools safely and effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to operate cranes and winches in compliance with the Traffic Act, Transport Regulations, and any other relevant legislative or compliance requirements.
- Positive safety culture and the ability to quickly acquire working knowledge of Yurika policies and procedures.
- Proven ability to interact effectively with staff, contractors, and customers.
Highly Desirable:
- Previous Substation experience.
- High Risk Work Licences:
- 60 tonne capacity (C6)
- Dogging (DG)
- Basic Rigging (RB)
You’ll be required to travel extensively both intrastate and nationally and work away from home based on project demand.
Additionally, you’ll be required to complete a pre-employment medical as part of the selection process.
