We’re looking for skilled Power Workers (Trade Assistants) to fill multiple permanent opportunities in our Operations – Field Delivery teams across Queensland.
About the role:
As a Power Worker (Trade Assistant), you will be a key contributor to the team, assisting our tradespersons with the construction, maintenance and associated activities on our overhead and underground electrical networks.
Remuneration starts from $78k per annum + 12.75% superannuation.
Locations we currently have opportunities available at, but are not limited to, include:
Far North – Georgetown, Normanton
Flinders – Cloncurry, Hughenden, Julia Creek, Richmond
About you:
This one isn’t for the feint hearted. You’ll need to be physically capable to carry out manual work - be prepared to get your hands dirty. You’ll be working in exposed conditions – the sun, wind, and the rain. There’ll be travel involved, meaning at times you’ll spend long periods of time away from your family and loved ones.
Critical to your success in the role, is your:
- Current ‘C’ class driver’s licence.
- Experience in safety observing and your ability to actively identify and implement risk control measures where needed.
- Demonstrated knowledge of an electricity distribution/transmission system, including construction and maintenance of the electrical network.
- Working knowledge of Electricity Act & Regulations, Workplace Health & Safety Act and Regulations, and other relevant statutory acts & regulations.
- Well-developed interpersonal communication skills to develop good working relationships with team members and external customers. You must have the ability to identify and understand customer needs.
Desirable:
- Current Heavy Rigid (HR) licence or the ability to obtain one prior to commencing.
- Current High Risk Work Licence (forklift, dogman, rigger, EWP >11m, VLC, slewing crane).
