About the role:
The Rail Operations team is currently seeking a Locomotive Operator to join them on a 7 Days on, 7 Nights on 14 Days off Roster based at Port Hedland. Reporting to the Rail Operations Supervisor, you will be responsible for providing safe operation and delivery of product between the Roy Hill Mine and the Port Facility.
Duties:
- Safely operating the locomotives controls in order to adhere to scheduled running times
- Observing speed limits and other signals to ensure the safe operation across the Roy Hill Rail network
- Undertaking routine inspections of the locomotives before undertaking a scheduled journey
- Positively communicating with train control on any faults or risks that may impact the scheduled journey
Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience as a Train Driver, with a Certificate IV in Train Driving (mandatory)
- Able to pass a rail CAT 1 medical including physical assessments, national police clearance and ongoing drug and alcohol screens
- Current valid C Class Driver’s License
- A current First Aid certificate (HLTAID003) or willing to obtain one
