The Role
We are currently seeking a Trainee Asphalt Plant Operator/ Yardman to join our team in Yatala to assist with the day-to-day activities, planning and production of Asphalt.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring quality of asphalt product to specifications
- Participate in risk management and hazard identification processes in conjunction with the SSO
- Undertake site inspections for safety, quality, and environment
- Order raw materials for production requirements
- Accurate batching of orders to specified mix designs and utilizing the docket despatch system
- Day-to-day administration of the Asphalt Plant including stock control of raw materials
- Mixing of the correct mix and allocating trucks to ensure the smooth operation for Colas and our customers
- General yard and plant housekeeping and maintenance
To be successful in this role you will have:
- White Card
- Strong communication skills
- The ability to work autonomously and under pressure
- Excellent attention to detail
- Be a team player
- Available for night and weekend work, as well as regular overtime depending on production demands and requirements
Licenses:
- Current Drivers Licence
- Forklift Licence
- HR/HC License - highly regarded
- Elevated Work Platform, Confined Space, working at heights and White Card - highly regarded
