Job Summary:
We are looking for a motivated and reliable individual who is a quick and active learner who can form good working relationships with team members and customers. Training will be given and involve learning how to calibrate a wide range of test equipment used to measure dimension. This will include learning Mechanical skills as well as skills within the science of metrology. Test equipment devices can range from a simple ruler to a micromemter to complex jig fixtures. Future expectation will be to cross into other areas of calibration such as Force, Torque and Weighing.
Future development would not only allow you to work unsupervised but enable you to expand your skills into other calibration areas and maybe become a specialist in a chosen field.
The role:
- Office based at our Castle Hill facility.
- Use supplied procedures to calibrate various test equipment.
- Calibrate equipment from well known brands such as Mitutoyo.
- Work at the direction of the Lab Manager/Lab Supervisor and qualified Technicians to provide premium calibration services.
- Respect the skills and competencies of more experienced technicians.
- Represent the company in a professional manner at all times.
- Work in a safe manner that does not endanger yourself or others.
- Responsibility to communicate issues or improvements within our calibration management system with the supervising technician.
- Discuss hazards and Workplace Improvements with the supervising technician to improve safety and quality of service.
- Be proactive in seeking knowledge from technicians.
About you:
- Enjoy working with mechanical instrumentation.
- Previous working experience in the mechanical industry an advantage but not necessary.
- Excellent oral and written skills
- Self-motivating with lateral thinking to assist team members and improve working situations.
- Work well under pressure and in a team environment.
- Punctual and well presented at all times.
- Excellent organisational and prioritizing skills with strong attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn.
- Safety Conscious & Enjoy Technical Work.
- Ability to work autonomously and within a team.
- Ability to communicate with management and seek clarification and/or direction.
General Info
- Located in Castle Hill with some car parking facilities.
- Business hours 8.00 – 4.00 Monday to Friday.
- Paid overtime and weekend work available.
