We’re looking for a Trainee Electrical & Instrumentation Designer to join our the Tomago project team.

What does a Designer do?
Working in a team to design a wide range of facilities for projects in the energy and resources industry.
A designer takes the idea or concept developed by engineers and convert them into drawings that can be used by construction team to build the facilities. This includes field data capture, 3D modelling, code/standards compliance and design review workshops.
The program
  • 2-year program, based on site (refinery, oil terminal, mineral processing plant as example) and regional office for practical experience
  • Working under supervision of a lead designer and supported by a mentor
  • Using the latest digital technology
  • Training on design tools, automation techniques and digital hardware
  • Included in Graduate Program
What you'll have
  • High school graduate, or equivalent (required)
  • Completed or undertaking a recognised and relevant design qualification such as a Diploma of Engineering – Technical / Mechanical, Certificate III in Engineering – Technical or Certificate IV in Engineering Drafting (beneficial)
  • Have worked in trades (boilermaker, electrician, etc) (beneficial)
  • Interest and capability in using surveying tools such as laser scanner (beneficial)
