About the role
Roy Hill is offering an exciting opportunity to be a part of our Control Traineeship program. Based at our Remote Operations Centre (ROC) near the Perth Airport, you will have the opportunity to gain first-hand experience and develop the skills required to work in and around autonomously operated plant, equipment, and systems.
What is involved in a Traineeship?
The traineeship will provide you with the opportunity to work a roster that will combine both classroom learning and on the job training within our Fixed Plant Control team and gain a formal qualification and Certificate III in Surface Extraction Operations.
You will initially commence on a 5/2 Monday to Friday roster until you have successfully completed the off-job (classroom) units of your training. You will then move to the 2D/2N/5X; 2D/3N/4X; 3D/2N/5X lifestyle roster enabling you to continue your ongoing mentoring with your dedicated supervisor and crew. On completion of the traineeship, you will be encouraged to apply for permanent roles within the Control teams.
What you need to succeed?
- Motivated with an eagerness to learn and contribute
- An interest in wanting to work within a remote-control room operations environment in a hands-on role
- An ability to problem solve and work within a team
- Able to commit to the traineeship which will involve a rotating day and night roster
- An enthusiasm for lifelong learning and personal development
- Strong attention to detail and a good ability to think under pressure/ stress
- High level of computer literacy
