Ventia are currently looking for a Trainee High Voltage Operator to join Defence contract in Darwin. This role would see you trained to provide electrical trade activities to install, maintain, repair, replace and ensure the integrity and performance of equipment and systems within the Defence Region Comprehensive Maintenance Services contract.
Further you will:
- Effectively diagnose problems, repair electrical systems and ensure test plans are in accordance with quality and technical procedures, work instructions and safe practices
- Plan, document, implement and supervise effective operating procedures to ensure the safety of the Base HV System operations
- Responsible for exercising technical control over the Base Electrical System in accordance with Defence functional requirements.
- Operate the HV and/or the LV generators and auxiliaries in the CEPS and any load control and/or shedding system as required
- Proven knowledge of legislative requirements regarding operation of electrical facilities
- Conduct maintenance tasks including inspection, classification and repairs and planned works
- Complete work orders and verify tasks in accordance with defence requirements
- Entry of work orders into the defence maintenance management system
- Report and qualify detected equipment faults to supervisors
Skills and Experience:
- Hold a current Class A, NT electrical licence
- Hold a Valid Australian Drivers Licence
- You must be an Australian Citizen and be able to obtain an ADF Clearance
