This role is hands-on, performing a range of engineering laboratory equipment calibrations, both at our Brendale facility and at our customers’ sites Australia wide, as follows:
- All calibrations are performed under ISO/IEC 17025 compliance and to the relevant Australian or International standards.
- A broad range of equipment will be used, from sub-micron dimensional measuring tools through to computer-controlled 2 MN hydraulic force machines, and including the following:
- Hydraulic compression testing machines
- Load cells
- Electronic balances
- Calibration weights
- Dial gauges
- Displacement transducers
- Digital and Vernier Callipers
- Vibratory tables
- All calibrations are required to be performed with a high level of professionalism, including focussed communication and informative discussions with both our Laboratory Manager and the customer.
- Throughout all steps of our processes, compliance with the correct procedures, instructions and specifications is required, whilst maintaining relevant records in a fully traceable and auditable manner.
All training will be provided on-the-job.
The successful applicant will have the following:
- A keen interest in instrumentation and detailed technical work, and an eagerness to learn and to follow training instructions.
- An aptitude for hands-on work, but at the same time, proficient with computers and technology, and with a bent for data and numbers, and technical problem-solving.
- The ability to apply Year 12 mathematics, in problem-solving complex equipment and machines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Adobe Acrobat Reader and Windows Explorer computer programs.
- Ability and willingness to travel for on-site work (within Australia, New Zealand and occasionally the Pacific Region).
- An Australian drivers licence.
- Able to work autonomously and manage time effectively (once adequately trained).
