Westgold are seeking a Trainee Underground Raisebore Driller to join our team. This entry level role will see you head to our operations in the Murchison region where you will have the opportunity to learn new skills with on the job training and mentoring whilst under supervision provided by our experienced Drillers and Supervisors.
This opportunity could be the beginning of a long and successful career in the mining industry as once relevant knowledge and skills have been obtained there will be opportunities to move into a Driller position. With hard work, an excellent work ethic and attitude, leaderships roles would then be logical progression pathway for those motivated and interested in leadership positions.
Example of daily tasks:
Mobilising rig from one drill site to another
Operating mobile plant
Handling drilling rods
Mixing Drill Fluid Additives
Cleaning equipment and keeping work area clean
Assisting with equipment maintenance and repairs
Following instructions given by the Driller
Operate the Raisebore Rig under supervision
All candidates will be required to have:
Experience in a similar role deemed highly advantageous.
A minimum of 12 months previous experience in a labour-intensive role.
Must hold a manual driver license
Ability to lift 20-30kg repetitively and safely.
Ability to pass a pre employment medical inclusive of drug and alcohol screen
Have a passion for mining and safety
Positive attitude with Self-Driven work ethic
Ability to follow instruction safely and efficiently
National Police Clearance valid within last 12 months

All current positions are employed from Perth on a FIFO basis or DIDO for regional areas with this capability. Rosters are continuous on a 2 weeks on, 1 week off basis and include dayshift /nightshift.
