The Opportunity
We are delighted to advertise an exciting and challenging role available for a Trainee Underwriter to work in our Mt Gravatt Office.
As a Trainee Underwriter, you will be a part of a team of experienced Underwriters, Business Development Managers and Operations Manager, to deliver a high quality of service to our customers. You will contribute to a profitable business unit portfolio by preparing and evaluating risk for new business, renewals and endorsements in a timely and accurate manner. You will establish and develop good working relationships with all intermediaries and respond to customer enquiries in a timely and professional manner.
Reporting to the Regional Manager (North), this is an entry level position that calls for an individual with a strong attention to detail and outstanding time management skills. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong business relationships and making quality underwriting decisions for our Mobile Plant and Liability portfolio.
Your Experience
- You will have a customer-focused mindset which will help to assist you with building strong working relationship with all intermediaries
- You will have superior attention to detail and strong time management skills
- A high level of computer literacy and experience working with Microsoft Office Applications, particularly Excel
- Your ability to work in a close-knit team environment will be prominent and valued
- You will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Your well-developed negotiation skills will assist when processing renewals and new business
- You may have experience working in a similar role, insuring Mobile plant and equipment, this is desirable but not necessary
