Macallan College is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Trainer/Assessor to deliver automotive courses at our Brisbane Campus on a full time basis
Macallan College is an established vocational education provider, operating five campuses across Australia, with a focus on trade courses within the Automotive, Hospitality, and Construction industries.
We are looking for an Automotive Trainer and Assessor to support our growing faculty by delivering classroom and practical face to face training to an international cohort in the following qualifications:
AUR30620 Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology
AUR40216 Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis
AUR50216 Diploma of Automotive Technology
Essential:
- AUR30620 Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent
- AUR40216 Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis or equivalent
- AUR50216 Diploma of Automotive Technology or equivalent
- TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or higher)
- Recent experience teaching in the vocational education and training (VET) sector
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Current industry experience
- Demonstrated a high degree of initiative and self-management in a high-performing, outcome-focused, and principles-based environment
- Demonstrated understanding of RTO operational and legislative requirements
- A current National Police Clearance, or ability to obtain one
- A current driver's license.
Desirable:
- Strong industry and community networks
- Experience delivering training to international students
- Demonstrated ability in using an online learning management system (LMS)
- 2+ years teaching in the vocational education sector well regarded.
Key tasks:
- Deliver training and assessment to students enrolled in Certificate III, Certificate IV, and Diploma of Automotive through various delivery modes including classroom, workshop, and online
- Regular audits of workshop resources, completing monthly PPE resource orders, and ensuring all workshop equipment is maintained
- Engage industry and complete annual industry competency tasks to ensure industry currency
- Participate in assessment review meetings for the review, comparison, and evaluation of assessment processes, tools, and evidence against competency standards
- Comply with our policies and procedures for training and assessment
- Accurately maintain records of student progress and assessment
- Liaise with industry to assess current needs and ensure best practice.
