A full time permanent role has become available for a Vocational Trainer in Schools in the Mackay region with our client Blue Dog Training a well-established and highly reputable Registered Training Organisation. We are seeking a (VETiS) Trainer or a Trades person from either an Engineering or Mechanical or Construction background interested in completing their cert 4 TAE to assist in creating innovative training solutions and deliver valuable learning experiences to secondary schools, students. This role is in School training at various schools around Mackay area with opportunities to travel out to schools in regional locations in a work from home situation. Lots of training, mentoring and support will be given along with ongoing training, events and workshops. You will be very much a member of a team not out on your own.
Duties will include:
- Organising and delivering training and assessments administration and compliance functions for students
- Inducting students and school representatives as part of the enrollment process (explaining processes, demonstrating website and database usage,
- Liasing with secondary school teachers, principals, students, government bodies and industry associations to discuss training methods and progress,
- identify and resolve issues, and provide coaching and support and answering questions
- Working as part of a team to continuously moderate, develop, review and enhance training resources and work processes
- General training or administrative duties as required
The successful candidate will need to have the following qualifications:
- Possession or ability to gain a Working with Children Suitability Card (Blue Card P)
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or interested in completing)
- Experience or qualification in construction or metal trades
- High level communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills, both verbal and written
- Strong problem solving skills and the ability to proactively identify and successfully resolve issues for stakeholders
- Ability to use a range of computer programs and quickly learn new programs and processes
- Willingness to travel to regional schools when necessary to deliver training and assessment services and attend trade shows etc. (normally local travel)
- Willingness to maintain industry and TAE currency, undertake professional development
