CPC50220 – Diploma of Building and Construction
The following are the requirements to apply for this role:
Qualifications and Experience:
- CPC50220 Diploma of Building and Construction (Building) or equivalent
- TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
- Experience in the implementation of training programs in line with Training Package requirements
- Project experience in Residential & Commercial Building within the last 2 years – project managing the construction of medium-rise residential buildings
- Experience in the development of learning and assessment resources and validation
- Demonstrated competence in the facilitation of both group and individual learning
- Proven and effective communication skills both written and verbal.
- Proven competence in a range of information technology applications, particularly Microsoft Office suite of products.
- Current Working with Children Check and willing to undertake a National Police check
Skills and Knowledge:
- Experience in training for either Building & Construction provider are strongly preferred (More than 5 years in Trade work)
- In-depth knowledge of the Australian Education industry- especially VET
- Demonstrated experience in training
- Good organisational, planning and problem-solving skills
- Computer skills to extract and enter information
- Good verbal, written communication skills & Interpersonal skills.
- Good workshop management skills
- Fluency in other languages preferred
- Passionate and enthusiastic educator
- Willingness to learn and apply new skills / abilities
- The right attitude and personality to build and maintain rapport and trust with students
- Demonstrated ability to establish, build and maintain relationships. Ability and willingness to encourage and inspire people to achieve goals
Desirable:
- Ambitious, passionate, highly committed and self-motivated
- Experience working with both Domestic and International students.
- Current first aid certificate
- National Police Clearance certificate
- Proven ability to develop training and assessment strategies (TAS's) to meet training package requirements
- Weekend availability
- WiseNet (Student Management System) and Moodle (Learning Management System) experience
Trainers and Assessor Duties include:
- Teaching Building & Construction qualification units to students for CPC50220 Diploma of Building & Construction.
- Maintain industry currency and professional development as per OC policies.
- Preparation, validation and evaluation of teaching materials
- Contributing to the review and evaluation of the curriculum and assessment
- Liaising with appropriate Orange College (OC) staff on matters of student welfare, educational progress and course planning
- Ensuring teaching methods and lessons reflect the high standards and quality required of Orange College (OC).
- Recording and maintaining full records of teaching undertaken (and kept as specified by the Academic Manager)
- Recording student attendance accurately and reporting ongoing absences to the RTO/Academic Manager
- Organise and manage excursions and other extra-curricular activities
- Attending staff meetings and training as requested
- Maintaining accurate records of teaching activities e.g. marking, preparing the necessary records, submission of marked work and the other records within the scheduled times
- Participate in team work within the department
- Ensure student participation in class and Moodle
- Attending training sessions and professional development activities
- Undertaking any necessary administrative tasks that are ancillary to or which support the provision of teaching services Performing other duties as directed by the RTO Manager
- Maintaining good-natured communication with staff, OC’s partners and students
- Assist with student orientation (as required)
- Prepare and submit regular reports and training updates.
- Current research and trends in Construction industry, adult learning, language, literacy and numeracy, as applicable
- Assist in Placement facilitation and visits for Work Placements students or Work Based Training students
