The Opportunity
Here at Telethon Kids, our vision is simple; Happy, Healthy Kids!
The Youth Mental health team aims to better understand mental health issues in young people and launched the Suicide Prevention Guidelines in LGBTQA+ young people in 2022. Implementation of these guidelines in service settings throughout Australia has the potential to improve the care received by LGBTQA+ young people who are experiencing suicidal ideation and/or engaging in suicidal behaviours.
We now have an exciting opportunity for a Training Coordinator to assist the team in developing a training program to assist the implementation of the guidelines to be delivered to community and clinical service providers.
Your duties in this role will include:
  • Working closely with research team, partners and community stakeholders to gain a thorough understanding of the research and LGBTQA+ Suicide Prevention Guidelines.

  • Developing and implementing a high-quality training package for the implementation of the LGBTQA+ Suicide Prevention Guidelines.
  • Assisting with the coordination of training delivery, including organisation of training sessions, resources required, booking venues (or delivery times for virtual sessions) and communicating with participants.
  • Supporting the team with the presentation of training to participants through both face-to-face and virtual components.
This role can be offered on a casual or part-time basis for 2-3 days per week for approximately 6 months and would suit someone who is looking for part-time work to fit around other commitments.
About You

  • Demonstrated ability to set goals, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
We are driving inclusion and diversity as part of the way we work and embrace the diverse career and life experiences of our staff. If you meet a number of the requirements (and not all), we encourage you to submit your application.
