Transcriptionist - (Wfh Available From Any Australian City)

VIQ Solutions is a leader in the transcription industry with a longstanding history of providing recording and transcription services globally and throughout Australia. We are seeking a number of transcriptionists to join work from home contracting positions. Applicants will have the opportunity to set your own schedule and will receive detailed information from our clients outlining their requirements.  Various deadlines allow for flexible work hours, e.g., Court work (10 am - 6 pm), Weekend work, and out of regular business hours, which may compliment other work, study or family commitments.  

While our work varies across multiple requirements, we currently have a higher demand for availability on short turnarounds (within business hours).

Essential Selection Criteria

• Typing speed of 70 wpm;
• Able to work autonomously;
• Self-learning attributes;
• Excellent hearing;
• Outstanding literacy skills, including comprehension, spelling and grammar;
• Able to consistently follow formatting and/or style guidelines;
• Reliable and punctual;
• Able to maintain accuracy while working to deadlines;
• National Police Clearance will be required for all roles
• Experience of transcribing legal content, including court hearings (audio transcription), will be well regarded but is not essential.

Applicants will have to undergo the following during the screening process;

• Typing Speed Test
• Spelling & Grammar
• Format Test

The work will involve intense attention to detail in discerning what is said and excellent proofreading skills. In this role, you will process audio and video recordings, strictly adhering to style guides, to produce accurate transcripts. Each day you will encounter new and diverse content and have opportunities to apply and expand your general knowledge. The recordings we produce rarely feature just one voice and often range from two to six speakers, although there can be more.  This exciting opportunity provides a first-hand view of the legal system.

• Word 365 license
• Infinity foot pedal
• Head phones
• Base internet speed (15 mbps or above) 
• Windows 10 Operating System (or above)
