Multigate Medical Products is one of Australia and New Zealand's leading manufacturers and suppliers of procedure packs and medical consumables for the public and private hospital markets. We are a family-owned business founded in 1986.
We are growing and due to this growth, we are moving to a new state of the art and modern premises in Yennora in 2025. Based in Smithfield, we are currently seeking a Transport Fleet Driver reporting to the Transport and Fleet Manager. You will be part of a team of professionals responsible for safely transporting goods and materials between different locations.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Operate a transport vehicle in a safe and efficient manner, following all traffic laws and regulations.
- Load and unload goods and materials onto the transport vehicle, ensuring that they are properly secured and protected.
- Maintain accurate records of transport activities, including delivery schedules, mileage, fuel consumption, and expenses.
- Conduct regular inspections of the transport vehicle, checking for any mechanical or safety issues, and reporting any problems to management.
- Communicate with customers, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure that transport needs are met, and issues are resolved.
- Follow all safety and regulatory requirements related to transport operations, including the use of personal protective equipment and the proper handling of hazardous materials.
- Plan and execute transport routes and schedules, ensuring that deliveries are made on time and in the most efficient manner possible.
- Maintain a clean and organized transport vehicle, including regular cleaning and maintenance.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to improve skills and knowledge.
Qualifications and Experience
- Higher School Certificate or equivalent
- Commercial driver's licence (minimum MR class) experience driving commercial vehicles preferred, and a clean driving record.
- Knowledge of transport regulations, safety requirements, and industry trends.
- Ability to operate a transport vehicle safely and efficiently.
- The driver’s role at Multigate requires many face to face interactions with our customers. A clean, neat, and tidy presentation is expected as part of this role.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Familiarity with GPS and other navigation tools.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects, up to 20 Kg.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
- Valid forklift licence also required.
