My client is Australia’s first and foremost supplier of cooking systems for restaurants, hotels and fast food outlets. As an established national company, they are looking to complement their management team with an experienced and dynamic Transport & Logistics supervisor. This is a significant opportunity to hold a management role in logistics and grow and develop with the compnay over time with a foodservice business possessing an innovative delivery system. We are looking for a committed and motivated individual that is looking for a role and company that will change their life.
Reporting to the QLD State Manager you will be based at their state office in Yatala and responsible for a committed team of around 24 employees in driving, delivery and pick up.
The business has an ongoing growth focus and will need a manager who is committed, dedicated, proactive, hands on, service oriented, demonstrates experience and knowledge in delivery operations and understands the importance of efficiency.
You will have the responsibility for:
- Managing the Logistics Operations including team member performance, training, stock takes, OH&S, Freight, Distribution.
- People management - Firm but fair
- Fleet management of 23 trucks and 2 Utes. (You will need an MR licence to be able to jump in a truck if needed to move it around the depot)
- Vehicle ‘runs’ – ‘run’ effectiveness without losing quality of company standards.
- PTV system - routing impelementation for the team
- Maintain training levels
- Maintaining systems and records in all areas of operations including HACCP, Sales, and Operations.
- Providing strong leadership and management to all fleet staff to ensure smooth functioning of the operation and compliance with all systems, polices and processes.
The successful applicant must demonstrate:
- People management experience
- Foodservice, FMCG experience or ‘multidrop’ understanding
- MR or HR license
- Strong self-management and organisational skills.
- A knowledge of HACCP and an understanding of SQF would be desirable
- Able to maintain a professional and constructive approach under pressure.
- A sense of urgency & be self-driven, motivated and adaptable to change.
- Able to show initiative to work smarter and improve systems and processes.
- Excellent internal and external customer relationship building skills.
- High level communication skills written & oral, conflict resolution & negotiation.
- Tactful, diplomatic and punctual.
- Advanced computer and financial reporting skills.
