Providing high-level horticulture management services for over 30 years, our client is a nationally-recognised agribusiness with ten diverse farming operations across QLD, NSW, SA, and VIC. Their produce includes Almonds, Citrus, Wine Grapes, Avocados, Blueberries, and more.
To support the ongoing development of their Blueberry Packing shed, a Packing Line Supervisor is required to join their team in Wamuran, QLD (10-minutes from Caboolture).
The Role
As the Packing Line Supervisor, you will be accountable for the smooth and efficient operation of all Packing Shed-machinery and computer systems during production season (April to October), ensuring production deadlines are met.
During the non-production period from November to March, the Packing Line Supervisor will be required to routinely service/maintain machinery to ensure all equipment is to the highest standard, ready for the next season. During this time, you may be required to assist other departments on site, such as Farming or Administration.
With a strong commitment to food hygiene, workplace health and safety, and quality assurance, your duties will include, but not be limited to:
- Planning, training, and supervising Packing Line team members, ensuring quality and safety measures are adhered to whilst identifying areas of improvement.
- Setting up and operating various Packing Line machinery, ensuring end-of-day housekeeping is conducted on all equipment within the shed.
- Performing fault-finding and maintenance tasks, utilising the provided maintenance support hotline when required.
- Monitoring the production output via Grading machine computer terminal.
- Ensuring accurate and timely management of packed product, wastage, and production data.
About You
Our ideal candidate will be someone who is looking to further their career with a reputable farming business, taking ownership of the role, and providing suggestions on improvements if needed.
Adaptable, hands-on, and detail-oriented, you should have exception attention to detail and experience in a similar role. Possessing a background in operating equipment and programming packing shed systems, you will also have a mechanical aptitude needed to maintain equipment.
To be considered for the role, you must be able to address the following criteria:
- Previous experience in a leadership role, providing training and support within a production plant.
- Mechanically minded; experience in grading and packing shed equipment is highly desirable
- Demonstrated knowledge of OH&S and food hygiene standards
- Forklift Licence and an Open Driver’s Licence
- Previous experience using KATO 260 Grading, and Curo packing systems will be highly desirable.
