We are looking for an Operations support super star to assist the operations team with the efficient running of the transport division in our busy Hazelmere Depot. Ideally you will have some knowledge of the transport industry, be an exceptional communicator with a high-level interpersonal skills, who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. We need an enthusiastic, energetic person with a can-do attitude that is looking for a career with the to upskill and step up into future leadership roles.
About the role:
- Take the lead on all aspects of operations administration within our transport team.
- Accurately enter data into FMS - Freight Management System to amend job consignment details and assist with entering bookings for depots across the Pilbara.
- Assist with pricing and processing of driver’s paperwork.
- Point of contact for customer account enquiries.
- Learn the payroll function and assist with weekly payroll processing for drivers.
- Take the lead with driver onboarding, internal and external inductions, and driver site mobilisations.
- Assist with permit applications and renewals.
- Assist the Operations team with client service and support.
- Arranging staff travel and accommodation.
- Uniform orders and general admin duties
Skills you can learn:
- Fleet utilization and transport scheduling.
- How to track and manage driver fatigue and compliance requirements for accreditation.
- National load restraint regulations; how to monitor and check for driver compliance.
- Heavy haulage and the requirements and road transport over dimensional permit requirements to be an operator in WA.
- WA Chain of Responsibility (CoR) legislation
- Preparation of quotes and tenders
The Successful Candidate Will Possess:
- Experience in a similar role within a transport or logistics operational administration space.
- Desire to upskill within the business
- Knowledge of the Northwest mine sites and towns would be highly advantageous.
- High level understanding of customer service fundamentals and appropriate skills in influencing internal and external clients.
- Excellent computer skills and experience working within Transport Management Systems
- Must be a great communicator and be adaptable to a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to prioritize and follow up, with attention to detail.
Working hours are Monday to Friday – 8.00am to 5.00pm. The position will be full time with a probation period.
