Sunraysia Stockfeeds (as part of the Tas Stockfeed Services (TSS) group) has a new feedmill and grain storage facility under development in Mildura and has a new career opportunity for aTruck Driver to join the business. Based at our Mildura site, the successful candidate will be primarily handling local bulk commodity deliveries into site and finished product, bulk product and container movements out of site.
Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Drive transport vehicles to pick up and deliver TSS products, in bulk and/or shipping containers, observing safe driving practices as per TSS and regulatory requirements;
- Operate equipment and transport products in accordance with TSS procedures and site safety requirements
- Ensure product is loaded legally and safely for transport (e.g. meets weight requirements, chain of responsibility requirements etc);
- Maintain communication with TSS to receive instructions/run changes etc;
- Maintain vehicle, driver and product records according to state, federal regulations and TSS Feedsafe accreditation requirements;
- Clean, inspect and perform minor service tasks on vehicle (e.g. greasing);
- Operate on-board equipment on vehicle;
- Communicate, report and document any identified issues, concerns and incidents with assigned vehicle, facilities, cargo or any other safety issues to supervisor as soon as practicable and prior to leaving site;
- Ensure all interactions are polite, professional and positive.
- Assist with site operations as required, including but not limited to:
- Grain and mill operations
- Operating site equipment and machinery (e.g. tractor, loader, telehandler etc)
- Weighbridge operations
- Loading and unloading trucks
- Site cleaning and other manual handling tasks
Key capabilities required include, but not limited to:
- MC licence and previous driving experience is mandatory
- Forklift, Telehandler and/or Loader licences and/or experience would be advantageous
- Roster hours are generally worked on day shift Monday to Friday with additional overtime as required, especially in busy periods
- Must be physically fit and willing to work as part of a team, pitching in as needed
- Basic reading and writing skills with ability to learn to operate onboard computer system
- Local Victorian geographical knowledge and basic fatigue management training an advantage
- Positive communication style with a flexible and proactive approach
- Demonstrated commitment to work, health and safety and following procedures
- Ability to work autonomously
- Willing to participate in pre-employment checks, including police check and physical medical with drug and alcohol testing
- Working knowledge of relevant Australian transport rules and regulations
