Lifeline Direct (LLD) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Lifeline Australia, delivering the suite of Lifeline's services across eight geographical regions. LLD works as a collaborative of local Lifeline Centres sharing administrative and other support services, which not only delivers efficiency in administration, but enables the Centres to work together in areas that were not previously possible. This, all while maintaining a sense of ‘localness’ to operate and serve local communities.
LLD encompasses the Hunter Region, Central Coast, Bondi, New England, Northern NSW, Geelong, South West Victoria, Western Melbourne and Central Australia.
Based at the Newcastle Warehouse, this permanent full-time Truck Driver position will work in the Hunter, Port Stephens and Central Coast Areas to support Lifeline’s retail operations through the safe and efficient collection and delivery of furniture. As an LLD Truck Driver, you will be the face of Lifeline in the community and provide great customer service to both internal and external customers by delivering safe and timely supplies, collection and delivery of furniture.
You will be proactive and have a safety focus ensuring the methodical loading, securing, storage and unloading of goods in a manner that does not endanger any person or object. You will ensure shop stock is delivered with minimal interruption to shop staff and customer and respond to enquiries for donations of suitable goods in a prompt and courteous manner. You will plan collections and deliveries to ensure the most efficient use of time and ensure the truck is safe and appropriately maintained in collaboration with the Warehouse and Logistics Manager.
About you
You will hold a current Manual Driver's Licence, safe driving record and demonstrated experience driving a light truck. You will be able to physically meet the demands of the position and have a true customer service focus. You will be able to work unsupervised as well as part of the greater Retail Team with the ability to work safely and productively.

To be successful in this position you will have:
- Current Manual Driver's Licence, safe driving record and demonstrated experience driving a light rigid truck.
- Physical ability to meet the demands of the position.

- High level of interpersonal and communication skills.

- Sound understanding and demonstrated compliance with WHS legislation including experience in completing risk assessments and complying with safe work instructions.
- Willingness to train and supervise volunteers and work experience participants.
A Certificate III in Transport and Distribution (Warehouse & Storage) and a current Forklift Licence would be looked upon favorably.
