Role
Due to rapid growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified Lifestyle / Recreational Coordinator to join our team in Auburn NSW. This position will play an integral role in driving resident engagement and participation across a range of social, recreational and cultural activities to improve their quality of life.
Key responsibilities
- Design and develop a diverse range of programs and activities tailored to meet the individual needs and preferences of Gallipoli residents.
- Collaborate with residents, families, staff, and external stakeholders to ensure programs are inclusive, engaging, and culturally & spiritually appropriate.
- Continuously assess and evaluate program effectiveness, making adjustments as necessary to meet evolving needs.
- Coordinate the scheduling and delivery of lifestyle programs, ensuring smooth implementation and adherence to established standards.
- Lead and facilitate group activities, outings, events, and workshops, fostering a sense of community and social connectedness among residents.
- Organise weekly bus trip and inform relevant stakeholders.
- Assist the Line Manager in organising venues and conducting risk assessment for bus trips.
- Provide support and encouragement to residents to actively participate in activities, promoting physical and mental well-being.
- Conduct individual assessments to identify residents' interests, abilities, and preferences, and incorporate these into personalized care plans.
- Work closely with care staff to integrate lifestyle goals into residents' overall care plans, ensuring a holistic approach to well-being.
- Organize community events, intergenerational activities, and volunteer opportunities to promote social integration and interconnectivity.
- Prepare reports, statistics, and evaluations to demonstrate the impact of lifestyle programs on residents' quality of life and well-being.
- Demonstrate empathy and understanding of residents, their families and fellow colleagues.
- Follow Gallipoli home safety, quality and risk policies and procedure.
- Participate and encouraging subordinates to take part in ongoing professional development activities.
- Protect and maintain confidentiality and not disclose any resident information to third person unless approved by Gallipoli management.
About you
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in recreational therapy, aged care, social work, or a related field.
- Previous experience working with older adults, preferably in a residential aged care setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with residents, families, and staff.
- Creativity, enthusiasm, and a passion for enhancing the lives of older adults through innovative programming.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and best practices in aged care and lifestyle programming.
- High level communication, problem solving and negotiation ability.
- Customer focused and the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders.
- Ability to cope with competing deadlines within a fast-paced environment.
- High level attention to detail, flexibility, time management and accuracy.
- Current NSW Driver's Licence and a willingness to travel for work.
- Highly organised, flexible, adaptable, empathetic and able to work in a rapidly changing environment.

- Computer literacy in Word, Excel, Outlook.
