Echuca Regional Health (ERH) is a world class sub-regional hospital which services a catchment population of approximately 45,000. ERH provides a comprehensive range of health services, including: emergency; medical; surgical; rehabilitation; maternity; paediatrics; urology; orthopaedics; ophthalmology; dental; chemotherapy; and haemodialysis. With approximately 1000 staff, ERH is Echuca’s largest employer.

The position suits a highly driven and motivated individual, who is able to work independently and collaboratively and has a passion for care.
Key responsibilities:
Ensure punctual attendance and preparedness for rostered duties, including ward rounds
Work as part of a multidisciplinary team within scope of clinical practice
Provide appropriate care to all patients in unit from admission to discharge, including but not limited to: admissions; accurately completing electronic medication charts, including the recording of allergies in accordance with policy; undertaking regular patient reviews; ordering, reviewing and actioning as appropriate diagnostic testing; participating in and contributing to multidisciplinary discharge planning meetings; ensuring a comprehensive discharge summary is completed for every patient at point of discharge
Prepare for and participate in HDU Virtual Trauma and Critical Care Unit (ViTCCU) rounds with Bendigo Health Intensivists
Apply evidence to practice, including reference to relevant guidelines and protocols (e.g. Therapeutic, including Antibiotic, Guidelines)
Ensure documentation of medical attendances is legible and sufficiently detailed to enable continuity of care and effective discharge planning
Ensure clear communication to patients and their carers
Ensure comprehensive clinical handover when coming off duty
Activate and participate in MET call and Code Blue responses in accordance with policy
Ensure a Resuscitation Plan has been completed for every admission
Participate as a member of relevant meetings and committees, including Morbidity and Mortality meetings
Ensure timely arrangement of and participation in mid and end or term assessments with term supervisor
Other duties as directed by supervising or management staff, including support to other areas of the health service to ensure service continuity
