About Kanmantoo Copper Mine

The Kanmantoo Copper Mine is one of Australia’s best kept mining secrets. Hidden amongst the quaint country towns of the vibrant Adelaide Hills yet is only a short 40-minute drive to Adelaide and a 20-minute drive to one of SA’s fastest growing areas, Mount Barker. Previously operating an open-cut mine, Hillgrove has established itself as valuable member of the community through award winning consultation, progressive site revegetation and providing opportunities for local employment. Hillgrove Resources are now embarking on an exciting new chapter – we’ve gone underground!

The Role

We are using innovative spectral scanning and AI/ML technologies for underground grade control and XRF/spectral scanning with AI/ML for drill core analysis. The key to these technologies being useful for underground production is the input of geological knowledge and we need your innovative thinking and team approach to further develop these processes.

Previous experience in an underground operation and a willingness to be part of our small, hard-working group are essential. Your efforts will have a material impact on the success of the company, so we seek Geologists who are team players in applying geology to improve the workplace and commerciality of the business.

The Not Negotiables

Here’s what we need from you:

• Previous experience in Underground Mine Geology and safe work practices
• Strong analytical and communication strengths
• Experience in many underground geological roles including drill hole planning, sampling, assaying, mapping, reconciliation and stockpile management
• 3D geological interpretation of collected data from mapping and drilling information
• Geology Degree with Honours from a Tertiary Institution
