UG Training Officer - Full Time Employment Opportunity
Queensland Mines Rescue Service is an Internationally acclaimed Mines Rescue organisation providing emergency response services for the Queensland coal industry including:
- Liaison with member mines for the provision of a complete emergency response system to the underground coal mines.
- The provision of training for Underground Mines Rescue team members.
- Maintenance and training in specialised Underground Mines Rescue equipment.
- Development of and training in emergency response procedures and strategies for underground coal mines.
- A mine inertisation capability using jet engines, unique in Australia.
- An SRS1200 mobile rescue winder, also unique in Australia
The successful applicant will have mature interpersonal skills, be able to participate as an enthusiastic member of a small, motivated, operational training team, have a flexible approach to diverse job requirements and most importantly be able to accept responsibility and be accountable.
Key Functions and Duties include:
- Provide quality training services to Mines Rescue personnel.
- Provide mine emergency preparedness training to mine personnel.
- Participate in mine site emergency response exercises as required.
- Respond to mine emergencies as part of the QMRS team.
- Participate in the development and maintenance of Mines Rescue training course materials and resources as required.
Competencies and Experience:
- Underground Mines Rescue experience.
- Inertisation operational experience.
- Exposure to Incident Management Systems.
- Appropriate rescue medical
Desirable Competencies and Experience:
- TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (QMRS will up-skill if successful applicant requires same).
- Statutory Mining Qualifications.
The role is a full-time position on a 5 on 4 off, 5 on 5 off Roster located in both Boonal and Dysart Stations.
