Underground Production/Drill and Blast Engineer

We are currently seeking an Underground Production Engineer to join our Golden Grove Mining team. The role of Underground Production Engineer, otherwise known as an Underground Drill & Blast Engineer is to design, plan and assist in the co-ordinating and quality control of underground production drilling, charging and firing. This is a permanent position, offered on an 8/6 roster FIFO from either Perth or Geraldton.  

The successful candidate will be responsible for:    

• Production stope designs and document control relating to drilling, charging and firings;
• Design and issue drill and charge plans ensuring they are practicable based on rig specifications;
• Update charge and drill plans, and maintain dynamically updated digital plans;
• Monitor production drilling progress and performance;
• Close liaison with underground operations supervisors and drilling, charging and firing teams;
• End of month reporting of physicals ensuring all tracking spreadsheets up to date at EOM; and
• Collection, preparation, testing and reporting of CHF samples.

 
What we are looking for:  

• Bachelor’s degree in mining Engineering;
• 2+yrs mining experience with time spent underground;
• An understanding of underground mining practices, in particular longhole stoping;
• Experience with production drilling rigs and their capabilities;
• Sound knowledge of modern underground charging and firing practices; and
• Proficient in MS Office software.
