The Roles
Based on-site at Kanmantoo Copper Mine, working a 7/7 roster (12-hour shifts). We are currently seeking experiencedUnderground Truck Operators and experienced Nippers to join our underground crews. Given we are a growing mine, there will be opportunity to grow and develop your career with us, faster than you would ordinarily find – naturally you have to want to grow too!
Experienced Underground Truck Operators
A solid understanding of underground mining development, production, and service operations is required to hit the ground running. Naturally we will train you on our trucks and processes but feeling comfortable and confident navigating your way around (both practically and safely) is essential. As a Truck Operator you will;
- Be punctual with attending shift start meetings, safety toolboxes and training sessions.
- Be diligent with conducting pre-starts on equipment and take 5’s (this is not optional!).
- Operate all equipment safely with efficiency and productivity in mind.
- Operate the trucks with best practice in mind to minimise damage to equipment, tyres, gearbox, and the vehicle in general.
- Be required to operate underground in confined environment – but as an experienced Truck Operator, you’ll be across this!
As a Truck Operator, you will also assist in other areas of mining when required. We rarely wear just one hat at Kanmantoo – which ultimately is great for skilling up and progression.
Experienced Underground Nipper
As an experienced underground Nipper you will be partnered with one of our determined and dedicated Jumbo Operator’s – your role being to support the development of the mine through;
- Always be punctual with attending shift start meetings, safety toolboxes and training sessions.
- Being diligent and responsive to the Jumbo Operators needs and requests which will include:
- Assisting with bolting and mesh techniques.
- Safely set up headings with bolts and mesh in a timely and thorough fashion.
- Assist with face preparation, mark up and installation of ground support.
- Removing waste items from the underground operations.
Being a Nipper opens pathways to career progression and other underground opportunities.
Essential Requirements
- Underground mining experience ESSENTIAL and applications will only be accepted from experienced mining professionals.
- Hold a current C class manual driver's license or be willing to get one prior to commencing.
- Be able to participate in and provide a cleared medical and drug/alcohol screen.
- A history of excellent housekeeping practices.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
- Working Rights within Australia.
