About the Opportunity

Ulan Coal Mines, an established and high-output underground longwall coal mining operation in the western coalfields of NSW, is currently seeking to appoint two exciting Undermanager positions (Shift Supervisor).

The Undermanager is a critical role and will lead by example to continue to achieve high safety standards on shift; primarily responsible for meeting the shift production and maintenance targets safely.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise, organise and monitor all on-shift activities
• Ensure statutory responsibilities are fulfilled and the operation complies with legislative requirements
• Provide guidance, coaching and assistance on decision making to front line leaders
• Management of employees to ensure a safe place of work e.g. absenteeism management, monitor and progress incident investigations, action safety matters

Your Qualifications and Expertise

• NSW 2nd Class (Undermanager's) certificate of competency
• Diploma Underground Coal Mine Management (Undermanager)
• Advanced knowledge and understanding of Underground Coal Mining Legislation
• Ability to implement and oversee safe work practices and performance within the business
• Act decisively to work in high pressure environments with competing priories
• Intermediate computer skills - particularly MS Office Suite
• Excellent interpersonal, cooperative and facilitation skills
