Steelmaking coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world. In Australia, we operate five steelmaking coal mines in Queensland's Bowen Basin, and have additional joint venture interests in steelmaking coal and manganese, as well as copper exploration projects underway in North West Queensland and Western Australia.
Job Description
Undermanager - Moranbah North Mine
Reporting to the Underground Mine Manager, the Undermanager is responsible for the coordination of shift activities to ensure safe working conditions for all personnel at Moranbah North Mine.
- While driving planned work within the mine, you will monitor, consult and make decisions to ensure the Operations teams' production and maintenance targets are delivered safely and ensure statutory responsibilities are fulfilled.
- You will use your leadership skills and knowledges to lead and mentor deputies and supervisors to identify areas for improvement and to deliver operational excellence.
- Your proactive approach to safety and commitment to achieving Zero Harm will be the key to your success in this role.
To be successful in this role you must be able to demonstrate experience in knowledge production planning principles and maintenance strategies to ensure work packages are planned and finalised within cost and time constraints.
- The successful applicant will possess a 3rd Class Deputy Certificate of Competency with a minimum of 5 years' experience in the underground coal mining industry and experience in leading a team.
- Persons with a 2nd Class Mine Managers Certificate of Competency, or studying to achieve it, are encouraged to apply.
- S1, S2, S3 and G2 Supervisor qualifications will be highly regarded for this position
