As the Queensland Liability Underwriter, you will be working in collaboration with your Distribution colleagues, to underwrite profitable mid-market business, develop and build relationships with our key brokers and stakeholders, offering excellent service standard and developing your knowledge base and personal brand.
This role offers an opportunity to develop your career and work independently, but with the support of an experienced team of Underwriters across the country, whilst contributing to the success of the portfolio.
You will be responsible for the following:
- Assess and underwrite and negotiate mid-market casualty business within Australia and New Zealand, working in accordance with underwriting guidelines, strategies and authorities
- Deliver profitable growth, in line with financial objectives
- Communicate Zurich underwriting appetite to our brokers to position Zurich as a leading insurer for casualty business
- Contribute to the achievement of the casualty strategic, financial and operative objectives
- Develop and maintain relationships with our key brokers and stakeholders, offering exceptional service and identifying cross sell opportunities
- Assisting with Internal Audits
- Participate in training forums and seminars to be current and informed of regulatory changes, industry trends and emerging risks, allowing you to build upon your knowledge base and offer the best outcome for our customers

In order to be successful, you will have the following skills:
- Multiple years' experience in Underwriting small to medium sized accounts
- Have a passion for liability business with desire to develop and learn
- A positive attitude and desire to deliver quality service with an ability to build and develop relationships
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
- Organised, pay attention to detail and take a sense of pride in your work
