- Determine the acceptability, conditions and pricing of routine moderate to complex insurance risks and agree coverage within business strategy, risk appetite, regulatory requirements, and product offerings within designated authority level.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of current legislation, underwriting acceptance levels, systems and underwriting guidelines.
- Identify new business opportunities within underwriting appetite.
- Ensure adherence at all times to the underwriting guidelines.
- Assist the Senior Underwriter with the renewal process, endorsements and new business quotations within authority.
- Actively and methodically manage the scheme renewal process, including timely preparation of renewal submissions to the Capital Provider/Insurer.
- Identify process improvement opportunities.
- Build and develop relationships with brokers, the broader Marsh business and with Capital Providers/Insurers.
- Deliver first-rate service to brokers whilst managing insurer interaction professionally and sensitively, observing strict confidentiality and discretion.
- Ensure timely and accurate responses to brokers and other stakeholders.
- Deliver timely decisions and problem-solving solutions for customers and brokers.
- ANZIIF Associate Insurance qualifications.
- Demonstrated experience in Underwriting multi or single line commercial business and domestic products.
- Broad insurance industry knowledge.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products in particular Microsoft Excel.
- Previous experience with Sunrise / Underwriting System favourable.
- Ability to deliver results on time and in full.
- Excellent and confident communicator in all forms.
- Team player with high integrity and energy.
