An opportunity has become available in our Melbourne Office for an insurance professional looking to take the next step in their career. We have a full time position available for a sport and insurance passionate person to take on the role of Underwriting Assistant. The challenge of this role is to balance and prioritise time-sensitive tasks whilst executing tasks to a high degree of accuracy. This role involves assisting the Underwriters and Underwriting Manager with renewals, new business, administration work as well as involvement in Business Development, events and marketing.

Duties and Responsibilities
Specific Duties include:
- Underwriting New Business and Renewals
- Liaise with Brokers on coverage enquiries
- Supporting the administration function where necessary
- Collaborating with the claims team to ensure client centric outcomes
- Participation in trade expos and conferences
- Broker and client meetings
Experience and Qualifications required
- At least 2 years insurance experience
- Tier 2 compliant
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- A strong interest in sport and leisure
- Excellent time management skills
- A strong work ethic and ability to work to deadlines
- The confidence to engage key stakeholders in open forums
- A strong desire to learn and pursue a career
Mathematical Skills
Basic mathematical reasoning. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and use arms or hands to reach and listen or talk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to five kilograms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and colour vision.
