This role will lead a team of highly experienced underwriting specialists. As we look to utilise data a technology to strengthen controls you will need to look at how you help the team transform through this change.
What you'll do- Manage underwriting guidelines through regular reviews to address underwriting risks
- Responsible for the Business License's for the Consumer Portfolio and ensuring this is cascaded via Delegated Underwriting Authorities within a well governed framework
- Apply a deep understanding of Industry developments to identify emerging risk to ensure underwriting strategy keeps pace with market developments and risks
- Work closely with other areas in Consumer Portfolio, Insurance Risk and CRO as relevant to ensure financial and operational risks are identified and recorded in IRIIS, with appropriate controls against them
- Lead Consumer Portfolio's control testing program, including oversight of relevant controls in other areas such as contact centres and digital
- Support Consumer Portfolio's breach management activities to ensure a responsive, coordinated and consistent approach
- Ensure leadership have the right level of visibility around Underwriting controls/risks and where the opportunities are to improve
