How you Contribute

The Quality Control Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the quality assurance and Quality Control processes for engineering hardware, software, and manufacturing operations. This role ensures that all products meet the established standards of quality, including reliability, usability, and performance.

Here's what we need
    • Quality Assurance and Control:
    • Develop and implement Quality Control processes, standards, and procedures for hardware, software, and manufacturing.
    • Monitor and evaluate the quality of incoming materials, production processes, and final products.
    • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with internal and external standards.
    • Identify and resolve quality-related issues in a timely manner.
    • Process Improvement:
    • Analyze data and feedback to identify areas for process improvement.
    • Implement corrective actions and preventive measures to address quality issues.
    • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and other departments to enhance product quality and reliability.
    • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Compliance and Standards:
    • Ensure all products and processes comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and certifications.
    • Stay updated with changes in quality standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Develop and maintain documentation related to quality assurance and control activities.
    • Testing and Validation:
    • Oversee testing and validation processes for hardware and software products.
    • Ensure thorough testing of products to identify defects and ensure functionality.
    • Manage the development and execution of test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
    • Supplier Quality Management:
    • Evaluate and monitor the quality of materials supplied by vendors.
    • Work with suppliers to resolve quality issues and improve the quality of incoming materials.
    • Conduct supplier audits and performance reviews.
    • Training and Development:
    • Train and mentor Quality Control staff on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
    • Promote a culture of quality throughout the organization.
    • Ensure ongoing professional development of Quality Control team members.
    • Reporting and Documentation:
    • Prepare and present reports on quality metrics, issues, and improvements.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date quality documentation and records.
    • Communicate quality-related information to senior management and other stakeholders.
How you'll succeed
    • Qualifications:
    •  Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field. Advanced degree or certifications (e.g., Six Sigma, CQE) preferred.
    •  Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in Quality Control or quality assurance, with at least 5 years in a managerial role. Ideally with experience working in/ alongside hardware with mechatronics focus.
    • Skills:
    • Strong understanding of Quality Control standards and methodologies.
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Proficiency in Quality Control software and tools.
    • Effective leadership and team management abilities.
    • Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Knowledge of industry regulations and standards (e.g., ISO, ANSI, IEEE).
    • Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
    •  Defect Rate: Percentage of defective products identified in production and post-production.
    •  Customer Complaints: Number and severity of customer complaints related to product quality.
    •  Audit Findings: Number and type of findings from internal and external quality audits.
    •  Process Improvement: Number of process improvements implemented and their impact on quality.
    •  Supplier Quality: Quality performance of suppliers, including defect rates and compliance.
    •  Training Effectiveness: Improvement in quality metrics following training programs.
    • Accountabilities:
    • Product Quality:
    • Ensure all products meet or exceed quality standards.
    • Maintain high levels of product reliability, usability, and performance.
    • Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant quality standards, regulations, and certifications.
    • Keep abreast of changes in regulations and update processes accordingly.
    • Issue Resolution:
    • Address and resolve quality issues promptly and effectively.
    • Implement corrective and preventive actions to avoid recurrence.
    • Continuous Improvement:
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across all Quality Control processes.
    • Foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the organization.
    • Team Leadership:
    • Lead, train, and develop the Quality Control team.
    • Ensure the team is well-equipped to meet quality objectives and standards.
    • Stakeholder Communication:
    • Communicate quality metrics, issues, and improvements to senior management.
    • Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment on quality objectives.
