The National Tertiary Education Union (NTEU) WA Division is seeking a highly motivated, growth focused individual with experience in organising, recruitment and campaigning, preferably also with good digital organising skills. The successful applicant will be committed to building the trade union movement.
The Organiser position is full-time and fixed-term (6 months), and is available immediately.
The NTEU is a federally registered union with coverage of academic and general staff in higher education. The NTEU (WA) is responsible for workers in all WA universities and their associated student organisations, research institutes and companies.
The successful candidate will be assigned a mix of duties, including, as part of a team, taking responsibility for the completion of organising, campaigning, and administrative tasks or projects at the Branch level and state-wide. You may be allocated to support specific NTEU branches in WA.
The role will be filled at NTEU Level 5/6 ($93,333-$115,515), plus 17% employer superannuation contributions.

Selection Criteria
- A strong and demonstrable commitment to trade unionism.
- Considerable experience in union/community organising and recruitment.
- High level communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively and consultatively to achieve outcomes.
- Expertise in workplace leader identification and delegate development.
- Demonstrated initiative and the ability to organise workload effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgement and discretion.
