About the role
This a 36-week opportunity located at Stanwell Power Station for a student studying Electrical Engineering.
We are looking for an enthusiastic Electrical Engineering Student in their 4th year of study – students in their 3rd year of study are also encouraged to apply. This will allow you to put your university studies into practice, while under the guidance of qualified and highly experienced RPEQ engineers and subject matter experts. This is a 36-week opportunity commencing in June 2024, with a 4-day working schedule from Tuesday to Friday. This position has potential to feed into our Graduate program.
Key activities include:
- Providing hands on assistance with electrical design and project work including change management processes
- Contributing to plant or process investigations – root cause failure investigations including review of operational plant data
- Promoting a safe work environment by conducting on the job risk assessments
- Assisting Engineers during major outages; allowing you to observe and learn parts of the plant that are normally running.
- Updating documentation and procedures
About you
- Completed three years of Electrical Engineering study as a preference (two years completed study will also be considered for the right candidate).
- A passion for ongoing learning and development
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A high level of initiative to promote our values in everything we do.
- Interested in potential future opportunities within Stanwell.
