A little bit about the role
Reporting to the Coordinator Statutory Planning, you will be responsible for:
- Processing and assessment of planning and subdivision applications in accordance with the Planning and Environment Act 1987, Boroondara Planning Scheme and Council policies.
- Providing advice and information to assist and educate the community about development and land use proposals.
- Defending Council Planning decisions at the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal.

A little bit about you
- You have a solid understanding the Planning and Environment Act, Subdivisions Act and the Planning Scheme and other associated legislation relating to land use and development.
- You have experience in applying Land Use Concepts and in dealing with statutory processes and planning principles, including social, economic and environmental matters.
- You have well versed communication skills, with demonstrated ability to write accurate and comprehensive reports and prepare external correspondence.
- Your high level problem solving, investigative and analytical skills enable you to deal with enquiries, conflicts and complaints effectively and diplomatically.
- A degree in Town Planning or a relevant discipline is required.
