How will you make an impact?

Working as part of the Validation Team to generate calibration models for Process Analytics Instrumentation, either as factory based calibration or field based calibration, whilst looking for ways to improve the calibration process and calibration techniques. Run samples, derive optimum calibration models, provide final reports, and assist the Applications team with feasibility studies on samples received from customers for potential new applications.

Key responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

  • Factory calibration of PGNAA elemental analysers
  • Contributing to the on-going moisture and PGNAA analyser development process.
  • Preparation of calibration reports
  • Mastering the methods and techniques required for analysis.
  • Perform feasibility studies on sample suites received from projects and prepare feasibility study reports
  • Actively pursuing improvement and simplification of the analysis tools to reduce the calibration time.
  • Working to standards under the ISO 9001 QMS and documentation control.
  • Act as Deputy Radiaton Safety Officer (RSO), assisting the site RSO with handling, testing, packing, receiving, and shipment of sources, including regulatory and documentation requires of the same.

What you will bring to the team:

  • At least a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Physics, or related field.
  • Radiation and DG use and handling licences (Or acceptance to obtain)
  • Experience analysing data for physical trends, and using data analysis tools.
  • Well-developed understanding of fundamental physical principles and their application to real-life situations.
  • Experience analysing statistics, and with numerical data analysis.
  • Matlab programming knowledge or knowledge of another structured programming language.
  • Excellent communication skills developed with global experience
  • Attention to detail and determination to ensure responsibilities are completed and accurate
  • Proficient in the use of data analysis tools.
  • Ability to develop new analysis tools.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and consistently meet expectations
  • Able to work effectively with colleagues in a team environment.
  • Ability to guide other team members in the execution of experiments or feasibility studies.
  • Laboratory data recording and data handling experience.
  • An understanding of any of following analytical techniques a distinct advantage: Microwave measurement and propagation, Prompt Gamma Neutron Activation Analysis (PGNAA), Ultrasonic attenuation, X-ray Fluorescence (XRF), Gamma ray attenuation.
  • Experience in modelling real world application data and advantage.
