Vce English, Maths, Chemistry Teachers (Full-Time, Part-Time Or Casual)

The role 

Top Scope College Box Hill, Chadstone and Glen Eira campuses invite applications from experienced and talented VCE English, Maths Methods and Chemistry teachers to join in our dedicated teaching team. 

This opportunity is offered as a full time, or part time (0.4-0.6 FTE) or casual for the 2024 school year commencing January 2024.

This role will facilitate, support and enhance student love and appreciation of the subject. It is expected that all Subject Teachers have a broad and deep understanding of their subject specific content and curriculum. 

Responsibilities of the role will include:

• Prepare and conduct classes improving skills, as well as fostering a deeper understanding of text conventions and knowledge with a focus on Year 9 to Year 12
• Utilise appropriate pedagogical practices to expand the growth of individual students
• Employ a variety of strategies to effectively implement the 2024 curriculum
• Provide students with a child-safe environment

About you

The successful candidates must possess the following attributes:

• Be registered with the Victorian Institute of Teaching 
• Be able to demonstrate excellence in teaching
• Be available and flexible to work after school hours and Saturdays

For this specific role, applicants will be required to:

• Have had a minimum of 3 years VCE English, Maths Methods or Chemistry teaching experiences. 
• Be confident with teaching contemporary techniques, metalanguage and writing conventions in English subjects
• Be confident with teaching topics and elaborating challenging questions in Maths Methods and Chemistry subjects
• Be thorough with the preparation of tests and materials to support students
• Work with a range of students of varying abilities
• Work with a colleague as a team member in a supportive environment
