A fantastic opportunity is open for a VCE Maths teacher to become part of a Catholic senior school near Taylor's Hill in Melbourne's West. This position is focused on instructing students in years 11-12, with the possibility of also teaching Year 11 Physics classes. It is a full-time, role starting in Term 3.Key duties:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive VCE Maths curriculum aligned with the Victorian Curriculum guidelines, possibly covering subjects such as Mathematical Methods, Specialist Mathematics, and Further Mathematics.
- Create engaging and rigorous lesson plans that address the specific content and skills required for success in VCE Maths subjects.
- Prepare students for the VCE Maths examinations by teaching content, problem-solving strategies, and examination techniques.
- Administer practice exams and assessments to gauge students' readiness and identify areas for improvement.
- Utilize technology tools and resources effectively to enhance VCE Maths instruction, including graphing calculators, mathematical software, online resources, and digital learning platforms.
- Engage in continuous professional development activities to stay updated on best practices in VCE Maths education, teaching methodologies, curriculum developments, and assessment strategies
- Current VIT registration
- Have unrestricted working rights in Australia
- Demonstrate previous experience in teaching VCE Mathematics/VCE Physics
- Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
