Nestled 90 km west of Ballarat, Lake Bolac College is a vibrant P-12 school at the heart of rural southwest. The local kindergarten is nearby, with family day care operating on-site, and a range of community facilities within close proximity to the school grounds, including the lake, community swimming pool, and sporting complex.
STAFF & STUDENT PROFILE
With 95 student enrolments in 2023, we have a small school culture that fosters success for every student. The staffing structure currently consists of the Principal, Assistant Principal, Business Manager, Leading Teacher (Engagement & Wellbeing), 2 Learning Specialists (Literacy & Numeracy), 9 additional teaching staff (7 EFT), and 9 Education Support staff (5.8 EFT). The current SFO is 0.6551.

Lake Bolac College offers a range of intervention and acceleration through our Tuition, MYLNS, and Excellence and Living Through Learning (social skills) programs.

As the sole state school in the area, we offer a comprehensive curriculum tailored to our students' interests and needs, complete with VCE, VCE VM, and career pathways.

WELLBEING
We prioritise student welfare, following a Child Safe Policy and Code of Conduct to protect our students. Beyond the classroom, our extensive extracurricular program includes camps, music lessons, productions, and community events like the 'Family Fun Day.' We currently have the support of a School Nurse, Mental Health Practitioner, and Provisional Psychologist, along with the Wellbeing Team, who focus on providing a range of supports, engaging events, and awareness activities. With a rich history of sporting success, we value the role of health and fitness in learning. Our Mentor Group program fosters respectful relationships and general well-being in small multi-age groups.
RECRUITMENT
To support staff recruitment, the school encourages candidates to apply who may prefer an alternative time fraction, are shared with nearby schools, or could be granted permission to teach as they are yet to graduate or able to work as a paraprofessional. A limited amount of school housing is available for successful candidates. A range of leadership roles are offered annually/biannually, and there are many opportunities for professional learning, team teaching, and expanding skills.
